We are youth advisors for the Midlands Translation Centre. We give our perspectives (as young people) on a range of different research projects running in the Midlands Translational Centre. We make sure decisions about young people’s mental health research are shaped by the voices and experiences of young people! We meet online monthly (sometimes more) to share our perspectives/ experiences and ideas.
We give our input on a range of projects, these involve:
- Projects focused on making mental health research better e.g. CADRE – A Children and Adolescents Data Resource aimed at linking a network of healthcare services, social services and education to support children’s health research and improve services.
- Projects exploring the use of novel treatments: e.g. exploring the use of Nitrous Oxide to treat depression
- Projects exploring the use of digital technology and prediction modelling for mental health
